Fernando Claro creates unexpected silhouettes using sumptuous fabrics.

“Imagine a secret society in 2057, where money does not exist anymore and the bargaining chips are some of the most respectable human values, such as loyalty, honor and the personal word.”  These were the inspirational musings of Fernando Claro as he conceived of his Fall 2021-22 collection. It’s an interesting concept. The good, caring and helpful people would be dressed to the nines and the evil people would be naked. Definitely something to visualize…well, maybe not.

“We have collaborated with a local textile company called Tejidos Royo, who have managed to create what they call ‘Dry Indigo,’” Nieto said. “This new technique not only allows us to dye denim without any water but also reduces waste. This is a huge step forward considering that, for a regular pair of jeans, usually 300 liters of water are used.” – Moisés Nieto

When asked about upcycling, the designer responded: “Creative reuse is the use of disused products or materials to make new materials or better quality products. “Rescue everything that has a special value. We will shape it so that you can give it a second life.” Moisés Nieto.
