O’Briens Wines will be marking Spanish Wine Week (Oct 4th – 10th) with a few great offers.  Look out for the 2011/21 Conde de Valdemar Reserva at €19.95 a tremendous offer for what is a superb wine,  a 40% saving.  I love their 2020 La Huida Albariño, Rías Baixas Spain  €14.95 (pictured) reduced from €17.95. The 2018 Monte Real Crianza from DOCa Rioja €12.95 is another great favourite.

This October look out for some great new additions to the O’Briens Wine Range.  Many are sourced from some brand-new winery partners as well as a few old favourites.

Laurent Miquel Connemara, Saint-Chinian, Languedoc France, 2018 RRP €15.95 (reduced to €13.95 from 27th September-31st October) Eighth generation winemaker, Laurent Miquel, needs no introduction- his wines have been a staple in Ireland for years, his new Connemara Saint-Chinian is a Syrah-Grenache blend that celebrates the wild beauty of two regions close to Laurent’s and his Irish wife Neasa’s hearts: Saint Chinian in the South of France and Connemara in the West of Ireland. Certified Vegan

Disznókő Dry Furmint, Tokaji Hungary, 2020 RRP €17.95 (reduced to €15.95 from 27th September-31st October) Disznókő dates back to 1732 and produce some of the best sweet wines in Tokaji, but this new Furmint is bone dry, with a fresh, aromatic profile and racy minerality. The Disznókő estate takes its name, ‘The Rock of The Boar’, from a large stone overlooking the property.

Longview Vista Shiraz/Barbera, Adelaide Hills South Australia, 2019 RRP €18.95 (reduced to €16.95 from 27th September-31st October) Longview is a scenic, family owned vineyard located just outside the historic township of Macclesfield in the Adelaide Hills. This cool climate region is 300-400 metres above sea level, offering the perfect conditions for growing premium quality grapes. All of the fruit is harvested at the family’s 65ha property, making all Longview wines estate grown. Certified Vegan

Leyda Carménère Reserva, Central Valley Chile, 2020 RRP €15.95 (reduced to €12.95 from 27th September-31st October) Since they planted their first vines in the Leyda Valley in 1998, Viña Leyda, have been renowned as pioneers of cool-climate Chilean viticulture, under winemaker Viviana Navarette. Their Carménère is varietally pure, with highly expressive, clearly revealing black cherries, intermingled with spicy, herbal notes and a subtle note of truffle. Certified Vegan
