Hennessy Prestige Tasting Evenings at the Shelbourne Hotel
The Shelbourne Hotel and Hennessy Cognac are offering two exclusive tasting at the Shelbourne’s 1824 Bar, tucked away at the top of the grand staircase.
The tasting events will take place on Thursday 24th Feb and Thursday 3rd March, 2022 and are limited to 20 people per evening. The Cognac’s will be presented by Paul Tuohy, the Moët Hennessy brand ambassador. Those attending will taste Hennessy V.S.O.P. Privilège, Hennessy X.O. & Hennessy Paradis. The Hennessy Prestige tasting evenings can be booked on EventBrite and cost €75.00  per person.
If you are planning a visit to the Shelbourne in February or March you can also take part in the Hennessy Fusil Service Ritual, The is a pipette used to extracts a measure of liquid from a cask. In the 1824 Bar they will use it to serve a measure from a Jeroboam of Hennessy XO (20ml at €18 or 40ml at €32) served in an XO glass.
Also exclusively available in the 1824 bar are the Hennessy Fire & Ice Cocktails.  The VSOP Boulevardier is a refreshing blend of Hennessy VSOP, plum and goji berry vermouth, Campari and Martini bitters. The New Word mixes Hennessy VS, green Chartreuse, apple sherbet and lime juice topped with apple sherbet foam. The Irish Connection is a Hennessy VS-based cocktail with port, clarified milk punch and ginger beer. The hot cocktails include a Blue Blazer, Hennessy VS with a brown sugar cube, Wray & Nephew OVP Rum and orange bitters, and a Chocolate Blazer, a take on a hot chocolate, with Hennessy VSOP, dark chocolate, honey and Green Chartreuse. All the Hennessy cocktails are available during February and March 2022 and cost between €17 and €19 per drink.
Founded in Cognac, in 1765 by, Richard Hennessy, one of the famous wine geese families, Hennessy is still today, one of the best known Cognac’s on the Irish market thanks to its unique Irish heritage.
