The Grape Press: Our Most Recommended Wines

Feel free to share:

We have one eye firmly on summer and are already looking forward to sunny barbecues and enjoying great wines with friends and family. And it looks like we’re not the only ones! Some of our wines have made it into the Irish media recently and there is more than a hint of sunshine about them. They include a gorgeous white to pair with al fresco salads and a soft red that is the ideal accompaniment to pizza.

We’re delighted that our wines are often reviewed by Ireland’s top food and wine writers both in print and online. The Grape Press, our wine reviews page, is updated regularly so make sure to bookmark it for when you’re looking for great new wines to try. It will offer some – expert approved – inspiration!

“Isla Gordon, originally from Carlow and her Australian husband Paul hand pick their organic fruit and their winemaking sees as little intervention as possible. This wine is very popular with Irish wine lovers, with its dark, brooding cherry nose, leading to a dry, well-balanced palate bursting with dark fruit flavours, wild herb notes and softening tannins.” – Matthew Nugent, The Irish Sun

“Provençal rosé is fresh, light, crisp and bone dry and Whispering Angel have just released their latest vintage of their very popular wine. Made from three grapes, Grenache, Cinsault, and Rolle aka Vermentino, this has beautiful aromas of strawberry with a hint of rose petal. Bone dry, with tons of raspberry flavours, the sheer quality shines through. A push the boat out wine but THE rosé to be seen drinking this summer.” – Jean Smullen, Sunday World – Magazine
