International polo circuit kicks off in New Zealand

THE International Polo Circuit kicked off in New Zealand against South Africa at Kihikihi Polo Club in Hamilton, around 500km north of Wellington.

The International Polo Circuit has kicked off in New Zealand

The tournament was one of the most important national events and one of the most prestigious on the global circuit, the win going to New Zealand on 9 goals to 7 from South Africa.

The circuit debut in Buenos Aires, Argentina at Coronel Suarez Polo Club and Trenque Lauquen Polo Club for the Juan Carlos Harriott 16 and 10 goals Cup has already kicked off, and will continue until Sunday, 16th February. The Belgrano and 3 de Frebrero 10 to 24 goals tournament will open on Thursday, 27th February and continue until 1st March while the circuit qualification for the Republica Argentina Cup will take place from Thursday to Sunday, 5th-8th March.

At Trenque Lauquen, teams will line out for the Hector Barrantes and Barrantitios Cups from 1st to 3rd May while the 25 de Mayo Municipalidad de Trenque Lauqen Cup and 25 de Mayo Juniors Cup will be taking place from 22nd to 25th May. The international polo circuit in Argentina wraps up with the Quico Zubia Cup, taking place from 25th to 26th July.

New dates for the Chilean Triple Crown, one of the most prestigious championships in South America have been confirmed for 18th March to 5th April inclusive. The three tournaments originally scheduled for last December will open with the Campeonato Handicap de Chile from 18th to 22nd March followed by the Club de Polo y Equitacion San Cristobal Open from 23rd to 29th March and conclude with the Chilean Open from 30th March to 5th April.

Winter sun in the Southern Hemisphere on the International Polo Circuit

Windsor Polo Club near Richmond, New South Wales will host the 112th International Polo event against England on Sunday, 5th April. Tournaments will take place for teams of men, women and children, and the polo club is located just 60km northwest of Sydney.

The Bryan Morrison Trophy, originally scheduled for 7th March will take place on Friday, 5th June during the Chestertons Polo in the Park event in Hurlingham Park, London. While USA is expected to face England in the arena, the official team lineout will be released later in the season.
