The city that never sleeps will constantly surprise you; providing lots of delightful activities, both fun and educational to all who want to participate. There’s always so much going on here. I’ve chosen a few destinations for you to enjoy now in the Big Apple.
A glimmering winter kaleidoscope has come to the Garment District with Prismatica, an immersive art installation comprised of 25 pivoting prisms that reflect the colors of the rainbow. As pedestrians walk through the exhibition, the six-foot-tall, multi-colored prisms fill the plazas with reflections and musical sounds, creating an ever-changing light show.

This exhibition brings back happy memories for anyone who worked in the garment district. We were called “garmentos,” or, as the Huffpost explains it, “manufacturers, wholesalers, suppliers, and designers—that rare breed of New Yorker we affectionately know as garmentos. Yes, I was a buyer for Lord & Taylor and an apparel designer for the corporate office of Saks Fifth Ave. back then and yes, I was a garmento. Want to take a free tour of the Garment District? Bryant Park Winter Village. The Winter Village offers family fun activities such as ice skating, iceless curling, and shopping at the outdoor markets. Bryant Park is a 9.6-acre (39,000 m2) public park located in the New York City borough of Manhattan located between Fifth Ave. and Avenue of the Americas between 49th and 42nd Streets.

The Bronx Zoo’s popular “Wild Encounter” program lets you spend time with your zoo favorites. For the Private Penguin Connection, up to 6 family members can spend 30 minutes with these adorable little penguins while the penguin experts fill you in on how they are cared for. The cost: $280.00 per group of 6.

Would you rather have an up-close experience with a Cheetah? No problem. The private Cheetah Connection is a tad more expensive than penguins, but I suppose cheetahs charge more. The cost: $330.00 per group of 6.
Do you love fennecs? Then by all means, have a private Fennec Connection.
Is it possible for any animal to be this cute? The fennec desert fox wants to meet you at the Bronx Zoo.
