David Bowie’s unreleased track and forgotten album resurrected 20 years later
A forgotten album by the chameleon rock star who died in 2016 will be unveiled next November, two decades after its creation. The opportunity for the record company of the huge David Bowie to unveil one of its – very good – unreleased tracks.
Four and a half years after his death,  David Bowie has not yet revealed all his secrets. A lost album titled Toy will finally see the light of day, two decades after its production. The record, which should have been released in 2001, was the artist’s dive into his past. In 2000, the man behind Ziggy Stardust re-recorded several tracks from his early days live in a New York studio. These little-known songs were written before Space Oddity (1969) brought the singer into the limelight. Since September 29, we can listen to one of these unreleased tracks, the very rock’n’roll and heady You’ve Got A Habit of Leaving .
Toy , a low-quality version leaked in 2011, had not been released at the time because David Bowie’s record company Virgin wanted something more commercial. The dispute will even lead to the departure of the artist’s Virgin, who will then set up his own label. We can now hear the entire forgotten album in the David Bowie 5 box set . Brilliant Adventure (1992 – 2001) which will be released on November 26th. The edition will also include many other records including remastered editions of Black Tie White Noise , The Buddha of Suburbia , Outside or Earthling .
