For anyone interested in fine wine and good food this is an evening NOT to be missed.

Róisín Curley MW has worked for many years in her family pharmacy in Mayo.  Her role as a pharmacist led her to an interest in wine, which culminated in her becoming a wine maker and passing the Master of Wine exam, no easy task.  She founded Maison Róisín Curley in the Bourgogne region in  2015, where as a micro-négotiant she sources organic grapes from the region’s top growers to make her wines.

Róisín is now a bone fide member of the modern era of Irish Wine Geese, wine producers from or with ties to Ireland who are globally involved in wine making. Róisín divides her time between Bourgogne and Ballyhaunis, where she still works as a pharmacist in the family business.

The evening offers guests the opportunity to taste the range of Maison Róisín Curley wines the menu will include  a tempura of Cork oyster with Beamish ketchup and winter truffle accompanied by Róisín Curley Bourgogne Blanc Aligoté 2019, Rosscarbery organic pork pâté, with confit shoulder, celeriac and Gubbeen chorizo cream matched with Róisín Curley Côte de Nuits-Villages Rouge ‘Au Clou’ 2019, finishing with a baked Époisses de Bourgogne with spiced pear chutney, quince and lavash crackers, served with Róisín Curley Beaune Premier Cru Rouge ‘Les Blanches Fleurs’ 2019.

Róisín Curley MW said: I am absolutely delighted to hold my first solo wine evening in The River Lee, and to  have the opportunity to exclusively introduce my new wines to a Cork audience, a place where taste and provenance is so wonderfully celebrated” .  This is the first of a planned series of wine events at The River Lee.  Philip Dunne, Group Sommelier for The Doyle Collection is delighted to be welcoming Róisín to Cork for the evening.
